In the last few days we received a real unique treasure. We found them in an abandoned but soon to be modernized locksmith’s workshop. Meet: the orange beauty!
They were lying on the ground, waiting to go to the scrapyard. Fortunately we arrived in time and salvaged them to give new lives and shinging.
People who are familiar with the era know, that this is a real treasure.
This beautiful rare piece is originated from the 70's DDR era and it was found in perfect condition what makes them a real treasure. These fixtures were manufactured by the East Germany company Elektroinstallation Oberweimar (EOW) and were used in many industrial plants, chemical storages and millitary bunkers during the DDR era.
After that it has been cleaned and professionally restored to it's current high standard. It's cast aluminium body and 5mm thick glass covers makes it look extraordinary, specially when hanging.
It is exposion- splash- and dustproof. The tubes can be changed at the "lighter" end of the fixture by screwing off the end caps, so it was a real challenge to figure out how to deal with this beauty. On the two sides of the lamp there are hooks and can be hanged.
Imagine this orange fineness above your counter, dining table or living room coffe table. Do you feel it? Of course you do.
